Bird nests are one of the few natural structures that can make you feel snug and warm, creating a sense of comfort like no other.
Observing these nests clearly showcases the skill and dedication needed to construct them. Up in the trees, birds put their heart and soul into building these cozy homes for their little ones.
A clever hummingbird mother discovered a unique way to make her nest even more inviting – keep reading to find out how!
Bianca Caroline Soares, a dedicated conservationist, regularly encounters hummingbird nests nestled among the branches of the jungle near her home in Paraguay.
During a stroll last Spring, she came across a unique sight that caught her attention – a hummingbird nest with a roof. Out of the five nests she saw that day, this one stood out as the most impressive to Soares.
Thanks to the shelter and protection provided by the leafy canopy above, the hummingbird’s abode was considered one of the most luxurious in the area. It also proved to be a perfect spot for raising a family. Soares made regular visits to admire the ingenuity of the bird’s nest and witness the growth of the tiny family residing within in the weeks and months that followed their initial discovery.
“Soares shared that this mother hummingbird had two adorable babies, and during the scorching days, they were grateful for their mother’s shade-providing efforts. Soares expressed her wish that this small mother’s actions would motivate others to be more mindful of nature.
The mother hummingbird’s considerate actions certainly paid off for her precious family. Eventually, all her offspring became independent and strong enough to venture out on their own. Perhaps they will remember the design of their first home when they create their own nests in the future.”
